The InfraGard program is designed to address the need for a private and public-sector information sharing mechanism at both national and local levels. Its objectives are as follows:

  • provide members a forum for education and training on infrastructure vulnerabilities and protection measures;
  • provide members prompt, value-added threat advisories, alerts, and warnings;
  • ensure the protection of computer intrusion/threat data shared among InfraGard members, FBI field offices, and the NIPC through compliance with proprietary, legal, and security requirements;
  • increase the quantity and quality of infrastructure intrusion/threat reports provided to local FBI field offices (for investigation and follow-up) and the NIPC (for national-level analysis); and
  • increase interaction and information sharing among InfraGard members, their associated local FBI field offices, and the NIPC, on infrastructure threats, vulnerabilities, and interdependencies.

The Middle TN Chapter of InfraGard in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation

Presents:

In Chattanooga TN, the next InfraGard luncheon will be on Wednesday, February 10th.   SA Brent Watkins, one of our resident FBI bomb technicians, will have something to say about “undie bombs”. Also, Scott Broyles from the Safe 'Sky's Alliance will be discussing recent aviation security developments.  If you have heard updates from Special Agent Watkins you will want to attend this meeting.

Originally, this was to be a Members Only event, however, due to time constraints, SAC Rick Lambert will do his Members Only presentation at a later date. This will be a great opportunity for you to bring an interested friend who is not already a member to the next meeting.

The luncheon will be held from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Hamilton County Red Cross building, located  at 801 McCallie Avenue.  Free parking is available behind the building.  Lunch is now $12.00 at the door. Please RSVP for this event here.

The next InfraGard luncheon in Middle TN will be Thursday, February 18th. We have SA Victor Rodriguez, FBI, discussing Counter-Intelligence in TN and some of the current threats and trends that the FBI are seeing within our state.

The luncheon will be held at the Millennium Maxwell House located at 2025 Rosa Parks Blvd. in Nashville. We have a great luncheon planned and the cost at the door will be $15.00 per person.

One of the primary missions of InfraGard is information sharing, and information can come from many sources.  The FBI provides a secure site for InfraGard members, and the information that they send out regularly goes to the e-mail address that you used when you filled out your InfraGard application.  If you have changed e-mail addresses since you were approved for membership, you might be missing out on part of this information sharing.  It is your responsibility as a member to update your contact information with the InfraGard Secure Site, as well as your technology or membership chair within your chapter.

Also, it is the responsibility of each member to visit the FBI / InfraGard Secure site regularly.  This is where you update your contact information to assure that you are getting the most current information and notices by the FBI.  You can also contact them at the InfraGard Help Desk at 877-861-6298 if you need any assistance like password resets or information changes.

We are trying to make sure that we spread the word all across our great state about the InfraGard and security related events and happenings that might be of interest to our membership.  InfraGard members are welcome at any InfraGard chapter event across the state.  We encourage you to bring a friend and help our organizations grow.  We try to plan for meals for our attendees, so if you RSVP, please attend or provide us with adequate cancellation notice, as it ends up costing us for meals not used. Again, if you have not yet sent in your RSVP  for any upcoming events, do so now!

I hope to see you at an InfraGard meeting soon!

InfraGard nationally has been looking at other ways to provide our membership with communication resources. We know that many of you have issues with using the VPN for secure access to the InfraGard Secure Site.  Now we have an alternative.  InfraGard National has arranged for all of the chapters to use the CyberCop ESP Portal for secure information sharing and updates.  You can access the site here and register.  Our location ID is 384.  We encourage all of our members to check it out and get online!
